Once we verify ownership of the email address, your account and data are deleted immediately, the same as the in-app flow. Under our Privacy Policy we commit to responding to these requests within 30 days, though in practice it is usually much faster.
Deletion is immediate and irreversible. Once deleted, your account and content cannot be recovered.
What is deleted
When you delete your account, the following are permanently deleted right away:
Your login credentials and authentication record (email, password)
Your profile and display name
All notes you left on stars (public and private)
All star names you claimed and private star nicknames
Your likes and favorites
Your block list
Your push notification token and notification history
Any content reports you've filed about other users' notes
Any entitlement records associated with your account
Deleting your account does not cancel an active App Store or Google Play subscription. You must cancel it separately in your device's subscription settings, or it will continue to renew and bill you. Any active Star Naming ownership and any unused note duration-extension are forfeited immediately upon deletion, with no refund.
Residual copies are purged as backups rotate, within 30 days.
Anonymized crash & error diagnostics
Contain no personal identifiers; automatically deleted within 90 days.
Astar does not sell your data, does not use advertising trackers, and does not retain personal data after deletion beyond the rolling backup window noted above.
Delete some data without deleting your account
You don't have to delete your whole account to remove content. Inside the app you can delete individual notes at any time from the Journal tab or from a note you opened, and remove items from your favorites.
